We get an open-entry half marathon through Waikiki without Honolulu Marathon's December field size, but the late Diamond Head climb still makes this more than a beach jog. The course is mostly flat until miles 9 to 10, when heat and an estimated 80 meters of total gain start to matter. April typically runs 21 to 28 degrees. Entry is roughly $120, and there is no time limit.
Better info coming — we're still verifying 7 fields on this race.
Why we'd pick it
- Flat and fast: 80 m of total climb, so it's a genuine PR course.
- Open registration — no lottery to lose.
- A non-racing partner gets a real weekend here — 5/5.
- Race day usually sits 21–28°C, about 25% chance of rain.
The course
The point-to-point course leaves the Duke Kahanamoku statue on Kalakaua Avenue, runs west to Aloha Tower, returns through Waikiki, and saves its real work for Diamond Head Road around miles 9 to 10. The finish sits in Kapiolani Park. Most of the route is flat, but the late climb lands after the sun and humidity have had time to build.
