Tallinn's race logistics are unusually compact. The winning travel plan preserves that advantage instead of adding unnecessary transfers, late arrivals, or a sightseeing marathon before Sunday.

Arrive with one full buffer day
Aim to be in Tallinn by Friday morning at the latest; Thursday is calmer if a missed connection would threaten bib pickup. Airport, coach station, ferry terminal, and Balti Jaam all connect into a compact center, but race-week disruption is easier to absorb before Saturday.
The organizer offers a Tallink discount for selected Helsinki and Stockholm travel from September 8–15 using code MARATHON. Compare the total sailing, baggage, and onward plan before choosing it over a flight.
- Keep the booking refundable until the race trip is certain.
- Put passport, entry confirmation, insurance, and bib QR in one offline folder.
- Avoid an arrival that depends on Sunday race-office pickup.
Use central Tallinn as a walking system
Falgi Road, Freedom Square, the Old Town edge, and several useful hotel districts are close enough that walking is often more reliable than a race-morning car. Participant public transport is free September 9–13 with the organizer QR, which must be validated on board.
Race-day service and street access can change. Check the final participant notice, weekend timetable, and stop diversions before relying on a tram or bus for a tight connection.
- Walk the hotel-to-start route before Sunday.
- Save a second route that does not cross the course.
- Do not assume a taxi can reach a barrier-controlled address.
Leave room for Tallinn after the medal
A late Monday departure is kinder than racing the clock to the airport or ferry terminal. The Old Town is excellent for a companion during the race, but its cobbles, stairs, and towers are poor mandatory recovery plans.
Choose one Monday activity based on the runner's legs, not the pre-trip wish list. A flat Kalamaja breakfast or waterfront walk can deliver more of the city than a packed itinerary.
- Request late checkout or secure luggage storage early.
- Keep dry layers available for the finish and departure transfer.
- Build the return journey around the slowest person in the group.

The organizer has confirmed the September 11–13, 2026 weekend, Sunday 09:00 marathon, Falgi Road start and finish, Freedom Square race office and expo hours, entry pricing, and participant services. The organizer calls every 2026 route single-lap and fast-profiled, but TripRace did not find a downloadable 2026 GPX or a published elevation total on August 24. The atlas therefore uses clearly labeled reference geography from the organizer's official 2025 course map and description; the final 2026 map and participant instructions always override it.
