Getting to the start

Use the transport and departure time assigned in your NYRR dashboard. Each option has a different pickup location; a nearby hotel does not replace official start transport.

Journey details

When to arrive

We would land Friday at the latest for a Sunday marathon. That gives one buffer day for delays and one full day to collect the bib without turning Saturday night into a panic.

Do not book a Saturday-evening arrival around an assumed expo closing time. The 2026 expo requires in-person pickup, photo ID, a confirmation email, and a selected time slot. Saturday bib pickup ends at 4:30 p.m.; the expo closes at 5 p.m.

  • International or west-coast travel: Thursday is the calmer choice.
  • Short domestic trip with several backup flights: Friday can work.
  • Sunday-night flight: only if missing it would not ruin the trip.

Confirm the room works with your assigned transport and expo slot before making it non-refundable.

Published 2026 start waves

The five mass waves start at 9:10, 9:45, 10:20, 10:55 and 11:30 a.m. Follow your bib’s wave, color and corral. Joining an earlier wave is prohibited; NYRR permits moving to a later wave. Start times remain subject to change.

  • Check your corral closing time separately from the wave start.
  • No bag transport is provided from the start to the finish.
