Shakeout runs

A little run. A lot of New York.

Choose a quiet waterfront, a park loop or a sightseeing run. Keep the approach from your hotel separate from the running time.

20 / 30 minutes adjusts waterfront turnarounds. Fixed loops keep their full distance; approach walks are extra.

Park access & route notices

Saturday’s Abbott Dash finishes in Central Park. Check the official park notices and event access before choosing your approach. Follow signs on the day.

Battery Park City is not included as an easy waterfront route this edition: resilience construction affects South Cove and the esplanade. Use the park’s current access notices before planning a run there.

Route notes

Feet are the real budget

The expo, museums, shopping, and restaurant waits can quietly create a 20,000-step Saturday. Choose one non-race activity and sit down between errands.

  • Track standing time as seriously as walking distance.
  • Use delivery or the nearest reliable shop for forgotten basics.
  • Sit for meals instead of adding a long queue for a famous counter.
