Sunday 14 March 2027. 32nd edition. 42.195 km. FIDAL Gold Label. The rules call it a partner race of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.
SourceThe FAQ says the start is given from 08:00 on Via dei Fori Imperiali, in waves a few minutes apart. The April and September rules say approximately 08:30. Both are organizer text.
SourceSeptember fee table: €99 to 31 May 2026, €109 to 31 July, €119 to 15 September, €129 from 16 September until close. Online service fee is extra and not priced. On 5 November the ENDU card still said Register now. The site header labels that portal WAITING LIST.
SourceNo GPX on the pages we opened. The FAQ gives altitude, not a line: about 20 m of difference, low 10 m, high 30 m, and about 6 km of cobbles.
SourceItalian expo page: Circo Massimo. Thu 11 and Fri 12 March, 09:00–20:00. Sat 13 March, 09:00–18:00. Sun 14 March, 09:00–18:00 for visitors, not for bib pickup. The English page omits Sunday. The September rules still say the place and hours will be communicated later.

Every race weekend has a different failure point. Tell us who is coming and what the hotel must solve; the board changes the base, spectator plan, and race-day timing.
Your strongest base
Via dei Fori ImperialiWhy this result · This base matches “I’m racing” and “Start logistics” more strongly than the other authored options.
The FAQ says the 2027 start, and the finish, are at the Imperial Forums and the Colosseum, with the start on Via dei Fori Imperiali. This pin is a point on that street, not a mat.
Tradeoff: Right next to the only start the FAQ names. The same sentence is also the finish, so a start hotel is also a finish hotel until a map splits them.

Fori Imperiali and the Colosseum
The FAQ does not name a finish station.

Run Rome The Marathon is Sunday 14 March 2027, 42.195 km. The FAQ starts it on Via dei Fori Imperiali from 08:00. The rules still say about 08:30, so we are not storing one gun. The fee in force since 16 September 2026 is €129, plus a service fee that is not priced. The FAQ calls it flat, with a 30 m high and about 6 km of cobbles. No GPX. The limit is 7 hours.
Checked 5 November 2026 against the FAQ, the September Italian rules, the April English short rules, both expo pages, and the ENDU card that still says Register now. No GPX. The finish is the same named area as the start, not a surveyed mat.
The FAQ puts the 2027 start on Via dei Fori Imperiali and says the start and the finish are at the Imperial Forums and the Colosseum. It calls the course flat, with about 20 m of altitude difference (10 m low, 30 m high) and about 6 km of cobbles, and says the line may change. There is no GPX. The rules allow 7 hours and say the gun is approximately 08:30, while the FAQ says the start is given from 08:00. The 30 m figure is the published altitude ceiling, not a climb total.
